And it definitely doesn&#8217;t happen overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, there are things you can do to help increase your water intake. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-in\/health\/wellness\/17-simple-tricks-to-drink-more-water-everyday\/ss-BBxPN8T\" target=\"_blank\">This recent MSN post<\/a> provides a handful of tricks to drink more water on a daily basis. Here are a few of them:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Set a goal \u2013<\/strong> Aim to drink a specific amount.\u00a0The standard recommendation is 2 liters (or 8\u00a0eight-ounce glasses) of water per day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Get a water bottle with measurements \u2013<\/strong> This will help you keep track of exactly how much water you are drinking throughout the day, and how close you are to reaching your goal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Create a schedule or use an app \u2013<\/strong> If you have trouble drinking water throughout the day, set alerts every half-hour or hour to remind you to take a big gulp.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Drink water at night and in the morning \u2013<\/strong> Start your day with a glass of water. End it the same way. The MSN post also suggests drinking hot water at these times with lemon or honey.<\/p>\n<h2>What Are the Benefits of Drinking More Water?<\/h2>\n<p>The noted benefits of drinking more water are numerous\u2014from aiding in digestion and increasing energy to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.enpress.com\/site\/drinking-water-weight-loss\/\" target=\"_blank\">assisting in weight loss<\/a> and improving the appearance of skin.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/better\/diet-fitness\/i-stayed-hydrated-two-weeks-it-changed-my-life-n731131\" target=\"_blank\">Check out this NBC News post<\/a> about what happened when three co-workers decided to increase their water for intake for two weeks. The author of that post states:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t realize that I wasn&#8217;t drinking enough water until this challenge. Being able to track how much water I&#8217;m drinking and assess how I&#8217;m feeling based on that has helped me realize that my body needs more water than I expected and that my afternoon headaches aren&#8217;t from stress or a coffee (or three) too many, but were actually from being dehydrated.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><em>Drink more water.<\/em> It&#8217;s a suggestion people hear all the time.
