The presence of lead was revealed through testing conducted under a new state law.<\/p>\n<p>Here is some other information revealed in the article:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>71 water outlets at Glen Burnie High School tested above 20 parts per billion (ppb)<\/li>\n<li>A county spokesman said water has been shut off anywhere there were elevated lead levels<\/li>\n<li>A new law passed last year required all Maryland schools built before 1988 to test for lead in water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is just the latest example of the increasing nationwide problem of lead contaminating water in homes, businesses, and schools. These continuing problems have even led <a href=\"https:\/\/www.enpress.com\/site\/elon-musk-commits-to-provide-water-filters-for-flint-residents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elon Musk to commit to help the people of Flint, Michigan<\/a>\u2014a state that recently passed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.enpress.com\/site\/michigan-sets-stricter-lead-drinking-water-standards-than-epa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">strictest lead drinking water standards in the U.S.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a
