The topic has been covered lately, as the struggle to manage the PFOA\/PFOS chemicals in municipal water supplies has perplexed local governments. In fact, Olga Naiclenko, Vice President of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewg.org\/release\/pfas-contamination-tap-water-far-more-prevalent-previously-reported\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Environmental Working Group <\/a>said \u201cEscaping PFAS pollution is nearly impossible\u201d after leading their latest study on the chemicals in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>They\u00a0analyzed filtered water samples from homes in Chatham, Orange, Durham and Wake counties in central North Carolina and New Hanover and Brunswick counties in southeastern North Carolina. The test from 89 water filters\u00a0found that a combination of reverse osmosis filters and two-stage filters were some of the most effective at reducing PFAS levels. There are an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fayobserver.com\/news\/20200205\/not-all-types-of-in-home-water-filters-completely-get-rid-of-toxic-pfas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">estimated 5,000 different types of PFAS <\/a>and North Carolina is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewg.org\/interactive-maps\/2019_pfas_contamination\/map\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> to have the third-worst exposure to PFAS within the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The PIONEER system is the first of its kind whole-house lead, cyst and PFOA\/PFOS removal system.
