In CBS Denver\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/denver.cbslocal.com\/2021\/03\/03\/chemicals-water-denver-colorado-pfas\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, many drinking water sources within these districts have been tested for PFOA\/PFOS contamination and what they found was shocking. Even though there is no federal limit to the contamination level of these chemicals, the Environmental Protection Agency recommends a level no more than 70 parts per trillion. Out of the 400 water districts tested, 13 water systems were found with higher than normal contamination levels of these \u201cforever chemicals\u201d. This is cause for worry for those who use these water systems as continued exposure to PFOA\/PFOS can cause negative health effects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When asked about the contamination, John Putnam, a previous director of environment programs for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, he stated that \u201cat this point we don\u2019t believe they should be concerned.\u201d Putnam has been a part of an effort to test many of the drinking water sources across districts in Colorado.
