PFA\u2019s are chemicals that are sometimes referred to as \u201cforever chemicals\u201d because of their high level of persistence. PFA\u2019s are extremely dangerous and have been tied to many serious health issues, including cancer. This investigation revealed that these chemicals were identified in an insect repellent product produced by Anvil, called \u201cmosquito-killer Anvil 10 + 10\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PFA\u2019s were discovered in an investigation by the EPA, who partnered with other established organizations in order to raise awareness. This issue was brought to the attention of the Biden-Harris administration, and the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention. Assistant administrator, Micheal Freedhoff stated that they are dedicated to finding a solution in order to promote public health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Environmental Protection Agency performed testing on the product, and later determined that the source of the PFA\u2019s is likely from the plastic container. It was determined that a reaction between the plastic and fluoride which was poured in the containers allowed PFA\u2019s to be formed and released into the product.
