As water testing in French Island continues, residents are still being provided with water bottles from the city and state. The testing revealed widespread contamination, with only 8 of the 500 wells being tested showing negative PFA results so far. About 100 more results have not been determined. The PFAS were first discovered in 2014, but testing only just began last year. Residents have become very upset with this delay and worry for their health. Because of this, the city is in the middle of multiple lawsuits as many residents have chosen to take legal action. The source of the PFAS has been linked to firefighting foam used at the La Crosse Regional AIrport. The city has filed a lawsuit against companies that manufactured the firefighting foam which contained PFAS.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
