PIONEER\u00ae Pb – Lead, Cyst, PFOA\/PFOS Removal<\/strong><\/h3>\n

PIONEER\u00ae<\/strong> is specifically designed at a 0.5-micron nominal filtration level, to remove both particulate and soluble lead from your drinking water. Soluble lead is invisible, odorless, tasteless, and needs to be chemically removed from water. Particulate lead is like a tiny grain of sand that needs to be physically removed from water. The PIONEER\u00ae<\/strong> POE filter removes BOTH forms of lead contamination from the whole house in a single filter.<\/p>\n

The drinking water supplies of more than 15 million Americans have water concentrations of PFAS compounds at levels exceeding the EPA health advisory limit, affecting over 110+ million Americans. Based on testing by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 98 percent of Americans have at least some level of chemicals in their blood, and has been found in water supplies across the globe. Common usage of a class of man-made fully fluorinated chemical compounds known to be resistant to heat, water, and oils, incorporated into a variety of industrial and commercial products, such as non-stick cookware (a chemical ingredient in the production of the nonstick coating used to make Teflon\u00ae), carpets, stain resistant clothing, food packaging, firefighting foams, adhesives, cosmetics, leather, and the film inside microwave popcorn bags.<\/p>\n

The chemicals Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), also known as C8, and Perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) are bio-permanent, are resistant to direct oxidation, and do not break down naturally in the environment or the human body. Studies suggest that exposure to the chemicals may lead to cancer. The NSF\/ANSI 53 Drinking Water Treatment Units Standard is an extremely rigorous test to evaluate the effectiveness of water treatment equipment for the reduction of chemicals in drinking water, specifically perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooactane sulfonate (PFOS). The NSF\/ANSI 53 standard contains four primary sections and is similar to NSF\/ANSI 53 Standard for Lead; Section 3 evaluates the Performance of the filter to reduce the PFOA and PFOS. The influent level for Standard 53 testing is 1.5 parts per billion (ppb), added as 1.0 ppb PFOS and 0.5 ppb PFOA. (1.5 parts per billion is equal to 1500 parts per trillion.) For the life of the filter, it must reduce the influent PFOA\/PFOS concentration below 20 ppt to comply with the requirements of the standard. ENPRESS results are below 10 ppt. It’s obvious that PFOA\/PFOS chemicals need to be removed from your water.<\/p>\n

PIONEER\u00ae Pb removes lead, which is a colorless, odorless and tasteless metal. In addition to lead, the patented E3-M filtration system removes >99.95% of Giardia and Crypto, as well as chlorine and chloramine*.<\/p>\n

Giardia and Crypto: Waterborne parasite that causes diarrheal disease; very resistant to chlorine-based disinfectants and is common in drinking and recreational waters.<\/p>\n

Chlorine and chloramine: Water disinfectants added to municipal water that have negative health effects. The most harmful exposure is through inhalation and skin adsorption of steam in a shower.<\/p>\n

PIONEER\u00ae PF<\/strong> features a proprietary filtration solution for the water treatment industry specifically designed to remove PFAS forever chemicals from drinking water to meet\/exceed new EPA Drinking Water Standards of <4 ng\/L for PFAS chemicals. Extremely user friendly with no hazardous waste streams or bulk media replacement, PIONEER\u00ae PF is proven to remove PFAS to non-detect levels (<1 ng\/L). PIONEER\u00ae PF<\/strong> provides molecular selectivity to both long- and short-chain PFAS (poly and perfluoroalkyl) substances, whose adsorption is not affected by the co-presence of inorganic ions or other water characteristics like pH and TOC. The technology has greater than 25x adsorption capacity compared to GAC and IX resins that can be affected by biofouling. Like all adsorbents, suspended solids, iron and manganese should be removed in a pre-filtration step before water contact with PF8.
