The Maryland town, Chesapeake Beach volunteered for testing of PFAS in the creek and bay of Bayfront Park. PFAS have been known to contaminate local water sources and cause health issues in nearby communities. However this study had a more positive conclusion. The toxicology division confirmed that the PFAS levels in the water are below concerning levels. Therefore they require no action. They are unsure of the origin of the chemicals that are present however, and will continue to look into potential sources.
