Due to this, communities like Saint-Louis have outright banned tap water due to its contamination.
The tap water bans have led to localized panic as citizens scramble to stock up on water bottles in their homes. Additionally, further studies have been reflective of America’s experience, showing PFAS in water systems across the nation. The Saint-Louis tap water ban is slated to continue through the end of the year, with the goal of installing public water filtration systems before the public regains access. It places a ticking clock for France on finding a solution to the forever chemical problem, and raises the flag to other European countries. PFAS are here, and they will not remain quiet.
